THE ESSENTIALS
All applicants must be:

  • Available throughout the event, Nov.30-Dec.1, 2017
  • Present at the two training sessions, Nov.15 (evening) (date to be confirmed), and November 29 (half of the day)

Training specific to each volunteer position will also be given.

ROLE

  • Are the first people an attendee meets
  • Print accreditation for everyone on site

REQUIREMENTS

ROLE

    Use mobile devices to manage who is allowed into different zones

REQUIREMENTS

Availability: One training day with team prior to the event, between November 23 and 26.

ROLE

  • Assist the stage manager
  • Set up the venues according to the operations schedule
  • Make sure the green room is clean and ready for speakers/artists
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stress
  • Pick up artists
  • Assist with onsite requests from management

REQUIREMENTS

  • Energetic and good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-confident
  • Experience in event planning
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stress

ROLE

  • Welcome participants at the braindates registration desk
  • Accompany participants to their braindates stations
  • Ensure that participants get answers to their questions
  • Support professionals from E-180 as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree in the field of commerce or creativity
  • Interests in technology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in customer service is a plus

Availability: Team training (date to be determined)

ROLE

  • Welcome participants at experimentation activities (workshops, labs, masterclasses etc.)
  • Accompany participants during the setup and breakdown of their activities
  • Ensure that experimentation spaces are welcoming
  • Take proper care of equipment
  • Support professional facilitators as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree in the field of commerce or creativity
  • Organized and resourceful
  • Proactive disposition and initiative taker
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Facilitation, and group facilitation, experience is an asset
  • Experience in customer service is a plus

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Notetakers will populate and edit content for The Brain, a C2 content capture initiative and data visualization project that displays the continuous, live essence of the C2 experience. “Brainers” are part of The Minutes editorial team.

ROLE

  • Take live notes on talks/panels/workshops and other happenings at C2MEL17
  • Populate a Google spreadsheet with your findings
  • Look for comments and insights from C2 participants on social media (from accounts that are not internal), add them to aforementioned spreadsheet
  • Participate in twice-daily editorial meetings where you will report on tendencies, topics and trends, your personal “ah-ha” moments and anything else that resonates

REQUIREMENTS

  • Great listener, fast texter/typer and know how to identify an awesome pull-quote
  • Have an excellent mastery of the English language, and stellar copyediting skills
  • Proficient on Twitter and with Google Sheets
  • Have the ability to consume, condense and make sense of vast quantities of content
  • Have a background and/or strong interest in business, marketing and culture
  • Are flexible and play well with others
  • Are 100% available and will show up 100% prepared and on time for C2 for training Nov. 22 and on site on Nov. 29, as well as during the conference that runs Nov. 30 and Dec. 1

ROLE

  • Welcome partners
  • Respond to all unexpected needs of partners (logistical, catering, programming etc.)
  • Help with the smooth running of partners’ activities
  • Assist partner representatives during activities and answer any questions they might have about the site

REQUIREMENTS

  • Resourceful and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Restaurant experience is a plus

ROLE

  • Welcome journalists
  • Coordinate press room activities
  • Assist with interviews

REQUIREMENTS

  • Great organizational abilities and comfortable working under pressure
  • Experience in local and/or international media relations

  • Knowledge of protocol is a plus
ROLE

  • Collect registrations forC2 Melbourne 2018
  • Participate in the promotional effort forC2 Melbourne 2018
  • Offer support in customer service/information for C2 participants during the event

  • Guide speakers or artists through their C2 Melbourne experience

  • Seat participants in the main conference room, ensuring optimal use of available seating
  • Manage line-ups and check-ins for Workshops and Masterclasses
  • Run the ticket counter and check-ins for each Lab

ROLE

  • Prepare the snacks and serve them
  • Provider information to C2 participants about the available food services
